Whilst many of our Purposeful Activities have been developed to educate and assist Service Users to move on to independent living, we also believe that providing opportunities for people to experience things they either enjoy or many not have experienced before is beneficial.
Small groups of Service Users are given the opportunity to decide what activity they would like to participate inand are encouraged to organise the activity including costings and travel plans. From bowling through to museum visits, the activities are an opportunity for Service Users to engage with each other and the hostel staff outside of hostel environment.
A new addition to the agenda is an art class. Service Users learn the basics of drawing, painting and illustration using a variety of techniques such as pencil, charcoal and paint. The class is further enhanced with visits to the Leeds Art Gallery where Service Users can see how the techniques they are using translate into pieces of art.
